Abstract
As a part of a cost reduction initiative, Playboy Honey Birdette, an intimate apparel company needed to move off of the Salesforce platform for their eCommerce and Mulesoft for their integration platform and onto KIBO and BOOMI . This necessitated bringing in a partner with deep skills around both solutions so that each of the services modeled in Mulesoft, could be replicated on the BOOMI integration platform.
About Honey Birdette
Playboy Honey Birdette had a number of services configured and operating within the Mulesoft environment middleware layer used to support their eCommerce site built on SalesForce Commerce Cloud. These integration services included both synchronous and asynchronous interfaces to handle the movement of a number of data entities from one system to another. These included Inventory Synch both full and partial from two of their primary ERP/3PL systems, Fulfillment Order Integration (Shipments) into and out of each of their fulfillment systems, as well as some utility services to map item identifiers from Shopify to KIBO.
Honey Birdette & Perfaware Strategy and Execution
As part of the design and implementation of these new services on the BOOMI platform, our clients wanted to leverage as much of the existing infrastructure as possible such as the AWS/S3 repositories already established, as well as the secure file systems accessible to their internal ERP where orders from the Australian/New Zealand territories would be fulfilled from.
The importance of experience and expertise on both the Mulesoft and BOOMI platforms allowed Perfaware’s team to excel in delivering these integration services in a few short months from the launch of the project.
The Challenge / Opportunities
- Playboy HB had a contractual deadline to get off of Mulesoft in just 12 weeks from the project kickoff.
- This was a multi-country/multi-currence project and required us to go live in both the US and AUS supporting US/USD and CAN/CAD as well as AUS/AUD and NZ/NZD.
Results
Perfaware was able to stand up the KIBO and Mulesoft environments and have them configured in time for testing within the 8 weeks and had our first Go Live ready in 12 weeks. This, according to the CTO at the time, was the fastest implementation he had ever seen.
