Salesforce Platform Business Analyst

About the Role

Perfaware is looking for a Salesforce Platform Business Analyst with recent hands-on delivery experience across commerce and customer-facing Salesforce clouds. You will connect business stakeholders with architects, developers, and QA teams. You will define requirements, shape solution design, and support delivery across Commerce Cloud, Order Management, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Data Cloud programs.

Your work will improve order lifecycle management, omnichannel inventory visibility, customer service operations, and digital commerce experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery and Requirements

  • Lead discovery sessions to capture business requirements across commerce, order management, fulfillment, inventory, service, and customer data.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements for Salesforce configurations, extensions, and integrations.
  • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows for backlog readiness.
  • Maintain as-is and to-be process documentation for omnichannel order fulfillment and customer journeys.

Solution Design and Collaboration

  • Partner with Salesforce architects, technical leads, and product owners to design scalable solutions aligned to business goals.
  • Distinguish configuration from customization needs and recommend the lowest-effort path that meets the requirement.
  • Define MVP scope and future-state enhancements with clear boundaries.
  • Facilitate workshops to align cross-functional teams on processes such as order orchestration, sourcing rules, Available-to-Promise (ATP), ship-from-store, returns, case management, and self-service.

Integration and Data

  • Document integration requirements, data mappings, and ownership for ERP, WMS, PIM, payment, and tax systems (for example SAP and Oracle).
  • Work with integration teams on API and middleware patterns using MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica.
  • Identify data quality gaps, process ownership issues, and downstream dependencies early.

Testing and Deployment

  • Create test cases and traceability to requirements.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and issue resolution.
  • Support cutover, hypercare, and stabilization.

Analysis and Optimization

  • Analyze order, inventory, and service data to find process improvements.
  • Recommend automation using Salesforce Flow, reports, dashboards, and analytics tools.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years as a Business Analyst on enterprise technology programs.
  • 2+ years of Salesforce delivery experience, with at least 1 year in Salesforce Order Management, Commerce Cloud, or inventory solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce OMS capabilities: order lifecycle management, sourcing and allocation rules, and omnichannel inventory.
  • Experience with Salesforce configuration, including Flow, Reports, and Dashboards. Familiarity with Process Builder migration to Flow is a plus.
  • Exposure to at least one additional cloud: Commerce Cloud (B2C or B2B), Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or Data Cloud.
  • Familiarity with REST and SOAP APIs, and middleware such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Good to Have

  • Salesforce certifications: Business Analyst, Platform App Builder, Order Management Specialist, B2C or B2B Commerce Administrator.
  • Experience with ERP and WMS integrations (SAP, Oracle) for order and inventory synchronization.
  • Experience with headless commerce, marketplace, or B2B commerce models.
  • Consulting or systems integrator background.
  • Interest in digital commerce and supply chain technology.

Role Details

  • Role Type: Full-Time
  • Location: Dallas, TX, or remote anywhere in the United States
  • Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card holder. No immigration sponsorship available.
